Unfortunatley, the only conclusions that I have come up with about where I am going to school next year are minimal, although I did tell two of the five that I am not going to be attending. Regardless, what I do know about next year is:

1. I will be drastically depreciating my savings account for two years in Washington DC studying something TBD at American U OR
2. Will be not so drastically depreciating my savings account for 1.5 years in San Francisco.
3. The unexpected happens and I am in NE.

Either way it should be pretty good, but also quite a life change, going from the Minnesota-nice midwestern gal that I am, to either the land of progressive hippies or ridiculously educated political players. It will be quite interesting how it all plays out, really. It obvious that I have hints of these demographics within myself, so it will be interesting to see which one manifests itself.

In other news, today I slept in and went to Target. Wow. HOWEVER, the evening will be drastically fun (minus the 35W detour!) as it is officially Kristen G's bday, observed. It is always fun to try a new place and see what is new and hip with these kids now-a-days. Tomorrow it is supposed to be sunny and warm, and I plan on carpe diem-ing that to its full extent.

Luckily, I made it outside before the sun went behind the clouds this morning. After washed the car, I went outside to do some reading. During the maybe 30 minutes I was outside, my back already got red. Yah, yah, this is what happens when you are of the Finnish persuasion. I'm not actually really burned or anything, but I guess this is what happens when you sit your white-ass inside a cube all day and never go outside. The moment you get outside: BAM! Your skins totally forgets what UV rays are and freaks out! Luckily, I am proned to tanning and not burning, so things are all good. Time to whip out the SPF!

Happy Easter to all! When I was at the candy kitchen at Marshall Field's yesterday, I seriously saw a solid 40lb. chocolate bunny being made for someone. Ridiculous!

I got in to San Fran today and they are giving me money and an assistanceship. This complicates things significantly. Ugh, but yay!

Vacation at last!

Okay, it was only a four day weekend, but considering the fact that I have had ONE day off since I started work in October, so nonetheless, this was a good thing! I was supposed to go to Washington DC, but being the smarty I am, I booked the flight 13 days out instead of 14, henceforth the ticket went up $400! Whatever pland I had in visiting "Our Nation's Capitol" briskly went down the tubes spiraling into a non-existant oblivion!

Since I already had scheduled the two days off and I FINALLY get real vacation in May I decided just to stay home anyways! It has been a stellar four day weekend and I've gotten a lot of things done which is key! Friday night I stayed late at work and then wandered around downtown until Jon and Liz came down to have dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery, which was good, because somehow even though I work across the street, I hadn't been there yet.

Saturday I got a bunch of stuff done and then went to the bank, had coffee with Liz and Job, and then had dinner at my sis's new house in Blaine with my brother in law and his parents who were here from Chicago. I am SO happy Michelle and Jon live in a new house, they finally have room to move! All that lugging was really worth it, and she even had bolthouse carrots for me. Yes!

I don't remember what I did on Sunday. Wow.

Monday I took the liberty to be OUTSIDE all day long as it was 78 degrees! I bummed around Stillwater, bought some new socks (whoo hoo...), came home, went for a walk, and then sat outside and read a book. This was seriously the best day to pick vay cay.

Today, I had lunch at Axel's on Grand with Beepers, which is good because I always love seeing her. We always get to reminice about India and talk about our crazy jobs. Tonight I am going to the Twinkies home opener! It will be great.

The highlight of the past four days, however, is that I was accepted into the School of International Service (SIS) at American University for my MA in International Economic Policy. This is very exciting and now that I have been accepted at all my places so far (um COME ON Creighton and San Fran!) it is good to have some nice options. SIS is by far the hardest place to get into, so that came as a nice present. Now, I just have to get used to the idea that I am 97.7% sure that I will be moving somewhere across the country. Since I am not truly that big on major changes, this will surely be a challenge. But the thought of moving to DC or possibly San Fran is still exciting. Most importantly, wherever I go, I will have enough china and flatware to serve an army in a very classy ambiance (now I mist learn to cook--and stat).

I forgot one last highlight, crusing around in my car (name TBD, the only thing I've been calling her is Halo) with the moon roof WIDE open! Gotta love the wind blowing in your hair on a nice day! Today, when I was at the stoplight on Highway 96 and Centerville road, blasting my Hindi remix of "Yeah" and had my large black sunglasses on, people probably thought I was a heathen. That was the best moment of the day!
