The IRS is tickled pink because we're getting the simulus payments out EARLIER than expected. Take that, IRS haters! Seriously. It was announced today that the first batch of payments (which I luckily fall in due to direct deposit and a low last two digits of my SSN) is now coming on MONDAY and not FRIDAY!

Let me just refresh you all, that you will probably get $600 for yourself, unless you paid so little in taxes last year that you will only get $300. If you had your tax refund direct deposited, your refund will also automatically be direct deposited. Here is the schedule of when your payment will come, whether you filed by paper or electronically.

I know that not everyone is an IRS-hater, but when we have crazy anti-war groups protesting the IRS building and sitting in the streets of downtown DC during rush hour, because they think that the IRS chooses how to spend America's tax dollars, THEY CAN BITE ME. If you have a problem about how America spends its tax dollars, write your Congress person.

I feel better now.
I can taste the end of the semester. I've finished my big paper and all I have to write is one final exam on a global governance issue of my choice. Sweet.

For the past three days, I've been out-of-the office at SAS training, which is good because: a) It doesn't start until 9am so I get to sleep in, b) I get to wear jeans, c) There is as more Diet Dr. Pepper here than I could ever drink for FREE d) my instructor is hot (but is maybe gay, I can't confirm).

I'm trying to think of interesting updates, as of late:
  • Last weekend I went out with my fav gals from MPA school. We had a ridiculous blast and I found myself consuming multiple Mohitos, two weekends in a row. The only difference was that this time, is that I was not drunk-dragging Janai to CVS so I could buy a Clif Bar as a hangover remedy instead of ordering pizza (too many points, duh!), but was dancing it up at Rumors. Oddly enough, though, when Janai was at Rumor's (i.e. a bar with dancing) last night without me, I got REAL jealous, but once I figured out that he was with his coworkers, I got over it (although just because he was with his coworkers doesn't mean he wasn't with other ladies...GOD I hate jealousy!). I've never experienced relationship jealousy before and I don't like it, but I also can't mentally turn it off.
  • I finally got to see Janai's apartment. Emphasis on FINALLY.
  • ERIN WAS HERE LAST WEEK. Let's face it, that was a blast. We watched funny You-Tube Wideos, Ate at Vapiano, and had a good time. I'm glad she will be joining "Team DC" in a few short months.
  • I got some new diva-style sunglasses.
  • Economic Stimulus payment in T minus 7 days!
  • Bought a ticket to come home over Memorial Day weekend. The ticket was $100 more than last year and the plane is oversold. SUCK.

Back to SAS class...

I hope you are all ready for tax day. T-Minus 2 days! There, I did my public service as an IRS employee.

It's been a while, but I've been busy. Let me recap the last two weeks. I:
  • Registered for summer and fall classes FOR THE LAST TIME. Sweeeeeeeeet!
  • Rejected, Accepted, and Re-Rejected a different job within my current organization (oh the drama).
  • Had class all last weekend and wrote papers both nights.
  • Had class.
  • Ate at Vapiano!!!
  • Went out with Janai two nights ago and ended up drinking Mohitos/White Wine/Pisco and talking about federal hiring practices, and ending up at CVS so I could eat a Clif Bar in my drunken state (seriously, the first time I've been drunk in maybe 2 years).
  • Wrote papers (let's get real, this is really what I do all the time).
  • Did laundry.
  • Worked out.
  • Ate Chipotle during class.
  • Bought a real leather jacket for $21. YES!!!
  • Went on a quest for green shoes (not forest green, or lime green. I want kelly green).

I wish there was more to day, but that is almost it, besides random trips to the grocery store and sleeping, of which there was not much of. At least Washington is getting a bit warmer, but that is sad becuase I feel the sweaty days a-comin.

Time for more paper writing!!!
