These are the best bars/desserts I've ever eaten.

I'm going to buy them by the case!!!

Venting #2 for the day:

Nine days ago, I sent a carefully crafted outline for my 30-page paper on the WTO to my professor who touts his ability to help students in the 30 page endeavor. I am writing the paper on the current WTO trade dispute between the US and EU concerning Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

I've been waiting for his response before I really start the major hashing of the paper, and here is what I got:

Sorry for the delay; the only thing I would suggest is that you could also look at the WTO and the GMO debate from the realist perspective of all members, though I think that is implied in your outline.

Okay, I am glad he apologized, but I am way to used to profs emailing my back in 2 hours or less.

DOUBLE GAH for the day!
I am doing a sucky job updating! I think it is important for me to maintain this blog, so I will keep trying. It's always fun for me to look back at my old posts to see what was going on in my life "back in the day".

I just have to say the thing that turned my morning around. Janai came back to Washington for one night, and has to return back to the UK tomorrow, but at least I got to see him. It was nice to catch up. This morning I woke up knewing it would be a long day of homework. After I worked out, I went to get my regular 3 point ice cream cone from McD's. After standing in line for 25 minutes (seriously, this is how important McDonald's cones are to me), the woman told me there was no ice cream. Okay, this normally would not be that big of a deal, but this happened to me the last two times I was at this craptacular McD's AND there was no sign up saying there was no ice cream. WHY? I asked the woman why there wasn't a sign up and she just stared in my face. Bite me. I wanted to throw a temper tantrum. See, this is what happens when you move to DC!!!! Lucky for me, I went across the building to buy a soda when I remembered there was frozen yogurt at a store on campus. They even had chocolate! Anyways, I ended up having it and it was delicious. Thank god, because I was feeling the crabby pants taking over my life.

In other news I had a mini-drama at work last week. I had applied for a Budget Analyst position with the same organization I currently work for. I ended up interviewing and got the job, only there is a stipulation that they have to start my salary grade over again (starting now) and that instead of getting my raise in October, I would have to wait until next April. Bite me! If this was a $2K or $3K raise, I wouldn't care so much, but it is much bigger. Plus, I would be switching my role completley at work and would be doing the same job as another person would be even if they hired someone at a higher grade (i.e. someone would be making $30K more than me doing THE EXACT SAME JOB). I have to decide if I want to take the job by Monday. They attempted to offer me some sort of cash bonus or to pay for one of my classes, but tax-wise I would then be losing money. I really wish I didn't know so much about taxes. GAH! To add onto the drama, the director kept saying over and over again that they don't want someone to do this job and then leave the org. in a year. All I could say to that was " I have no immediate plans to leave DC," which was a phrase given to me a la my coworker. I'm pretty sure I don't want to tie mself to my current organization, but the budget analyst job would sure be good experience for the future. I hate jobs. I hate decision making.

I have to get rid of the crabby pants, and STAT. Too bad I don't think that getting more chocolate frozen yogurt is going to help the work situation. It's too bad frozen yogurt doesn't solve more of the world's problems!!

I'm sort of shocked, but I actually am a student at a university where the men's basketball team is in the NCAA tournament. Yes, for the first time in history, American University won the Patriot League and will be represented in the tournament. This is a long shot from Gustavus, even though the Gusties were known for their athleticism. So, even though we have to play the #2 seed and will in all likelyhood get crushed tomorrow, I'm still routing for the AU EAGLES!

I just have to say this week went by ridiculously fast, and that I have a crap load of stuff to do this weekend, including getting as much done from a paper that I can think of. I hate not having a page limit goal, but I must bring my "A game" to get this stuff done asap.

Lucky for me, my pink toothbrush said he would be back on Monday, much to my shock. I am wondering what happened to all of the Morocco travels, but I will see soon enough. All the more motivation to get my crap done so we can see each other.

The family came and went, and it was all during good weather. I couldn't really complain about having to do touristy stuff, because at least it was nice outside. I let Mom and Michelle go to the Holocaust Museum and the Bureau of Printing and Engraving without me, but I went everywhere else. A definate highlight was going to Eastern Market, which I hadn't seen since the fire last year. They've done a really great job building the temporary building. I had a delicious hotdog and also a chocolate cappucino muffin plus some coffee. HOLLA back for deliciously posh street vendor food.

I miss my pink toothbrush who is far away in Morocco. I hope he is having a splendid time while I get all of my homework and papers done. There is only six weeks left in the semester and I've got a lot to do, so its truly good he is gone.

In other news, congrats to Yer for getting into all of her schools!!! Good luck choosing, pal.

If I was at Gustavus today, I would probably be enjoying a St. Patrick's Day themed frost-your-own cookie. Sigh.

Why it is okay to be excited for tomorrow (a Monday):
1) It's pay day!
2) $1 Guiness at McCormack and Schmidt's ALL NIGHT
3) It's Spring Break. No school!!!!
4) I bought a load of M&M's for the dispenser at work and people are going to LOVE ME (plus I brought home-made Chex Mix on Friday, I am a TEAM PLAYER!).
5) T-Minus two days until the fam arrives.
6) My Monday this week is really a pseudo-Wednesday!
